Beer Can Chicken

1. Pre-heat the oven or barbecue to 400 degrees – if using the barbecue use only one side (if you have 4 burners use 2, if you have just 2 use one)

2. Rub the outside of the chicken with your choice of spice mix (blackening, Indian, five spice, etc.) or mixed dried herbs

3. Put 1.5 cups of liquid (beer, wine or fruit juice) in the chicken roaster

4. Sit the chicken on the chicken roaster, no polite way to say this – the roaster goes up the chicken’s butt

5. Put the chicken roaster with the chicken sitting on it into a roasting pan

6. Put the roasting pan in the oven or on the unlit side of the barbecue

7. The juices will collect in the roasting pan and you may want to put your veg (potatoes, carrots, etc.) in the juices to roast

8. Cook for about an hour or an hour and a half depending on the size of the chicken

9. Remove the chicken from the roaster and enjoy the moistest, juiciest chicken you’ve ever made

10. You can use the juices to make a gravy – it’s your choice

11. Put the chicken roaster in your dishwasher to clean
